Metka — which is Metanira’s nickname — is a living proof that dream do come true.
When I saw her for the very first time at the show, together with her litter sisters, she was a kitten, as cute and eager to play as befits a feline baby. She found her way straight into my heart, yet sense got better of me — we simply didn't have a place for another cat, not in the flat we were living at that time.

When that ceased to be a problem and Metanira was still waiting for a new home, I just knew it was us she was waiting for. And so she joined our family... Metka is a big and robust lady with strong boning and gorgeous coat — rich and well-textured — which adds a lot to her beauty. Another big asset is her pedigree, which combines some of the best lines with several World Winners. She is a granddaughter of the fabulous Flatland's Bjoerstjerne (the cat I fell in love with), a great-granddaughter of the famous Pan’s Polaris, and her ancestors in the fifth generation are wild, anonymous foundation forest cats..

Most of all, she is sweet and gentle, yet always eager to play and chase other cats. After only two days spent at our home she behaved as if she had always lived there. Our cats have also accepted her almost seamlessly. Her "best friend" is actually Viresse — they spend a lot of time together.
We are very happy she has become the member of our family.

Mimbla, our IFO (Identified Flying Object — due to her favourite pastime, playing Matrix wall jumping with her grandma, Metanira) is a daughter of our Freyja and has come to us from the cattery Dwa Susy*PL. To some extent she is also the fruit of the co-operation between our catteriers and a lovely one! Mimbla is a big and sturdy girl with charming expression, magnificent, two-layer coat with really harsh guard hair and the colour which brings to mind her great-grandfather, Golden Delicious Felis Jubatus (just yummy!). She can also boast a great profile and chin which is a definite improvement on Metanira's. She is also sweet and cuddly and the best companion of her grandmother who took to her immediately. Both girls share their time between sleeping huddled into the likeness of the ying-yang symbol and running wildly around the house.

Mimbla's great qualities and her marvelous pedigree persuaded me to include her in our breeding program despite the unfortunate addition of the GSD IV gene. We hope to "breed it out" in the next generation while preserving all the good traits of Mimbla. Luckily, the carriers stay healthy so it just takes some extra caution to choose the matings wisely.

Jane Marple lives in cattery Dwa Susy*PL with her breeder, yet we do have at least a part claim on her. She embodies everything we love the most about the Norwegian Forest Cats - she is a wegie down to the core. Strong and massively built, she has a beautiful head with a perfect profile. The setting and shape of her ears is excellent and her expression is something to die for. Her coat is definitely two-layered and consists of wooly undercoat and almost greasy, long and stiff guard hair. She bears a lot of resemblance to her great-grandfather, Golden Delicious Felis Jubatus, which is great praise for any cat. We hope her development will continue according to our expectations. We are very proud we can have a say regarding her breeding career.

Our first cat, the first wegie under our roof, the absolute and undisputable king of our fourlegged (and twolegged as well, I tend to think) family. He is a strict yet just ruler, keeping the peace by means of administering gentle blows wherever necessary. Highly intelligent, reserved towards strangers, he demonstrates his firm dislike of too blunt caresses bestowed upon him. Yet towards us he is ever affectionate, eager to be cuddled or play.

As befits a Norwegian forest cat, Hacker is inquisitive and sociable, exploring the bags of our guests, supervising all kitchen activities or other house chores. No shopping is valid without his checking the contents of the bags with goods, no vacuuming can be performed without his vigilance and ritual spanking of the vacuum cleaner afterwards, no one can enter the house without his attendance (intimidating or straightforward terrifying for postmen, pizza deliverers, plumbers etc.). Hacker has acted as a father-figure for Jankes and Viresse when they were kittens: washing, teaching personal hygiene and playing with them all day long.

What he hates are crowds, noises and the touch of strangers' hands, so he has retired from the show career, having achieved the title of International Premior. He needs just one more certificate for a grand, yet we respect his dislike of shows. He stays at home, for us alone to cherish and enjoy.

Hacker is a true wegie when it comes to looks, strong, heavy, with good boning. Thor’s hammer – a formidable cat with broad chest and huge paws. His wonderfully dense and long coat requires little maintenance. In spring and summer he sheds a lot of undercoat, which is typical for wegies and a nuisance only if you really hate to find hair everywhere. To make up for his less than perfect profile and ears slightly smaller than described in the standard he can boast of magnificent coat, strong body and absolutely gorgeous look of his green eyes, full of love and affection.

It took us a lot of thinking to finally reach the decision of buying a breeding female. Not only thinking: showing, discussions with experienced breeders, searching the Internet, until we decided that we know at least something about the breed and are more or less ready to start searching for her.

I wanted her to come from a good cattery, one that puts great stress on rearing of the kittens and taking good care of adults as well. And she should be of course good of type, after good parents (preferably after a tried mating, so that we could see the pictures of the former cats from the mating), preferably not related to cats bred in Poland. And a black blotched tabby, no white. A tough nut.

Yet we did it, we found a kitten which answered our expectations, at least the most important ones.

Viresse (called Vireska or Viruska at home) is a sweet and playful cat, always eager to run with the big boys, chase the toys, flies, leaves or whatever comes in handy on the balcony. She is a opinionated lady, yet a purring box on legs, a caramel girl both by character and by her looks. She has a lovely profile, rounded forehead, very expressive looks, nice triangle of the head, pretty large ears with nice tufts and strong body with good boning. As a judge put it "Nice to see such substance on a lady". Her colour adds to the general impression: beautiful black classic pattern melts into lovely honey and caramel shades of brown. We could have wished for a stronger chin, yet as she has been pronounced a slow developer, that may change in the future. Well, we have to wait and see...

Unfortunately, due to health issues Viresse never got pregnant. After repeated but failed matings with experienced and fertile males, some hormonal tests and treatment we decided to let her enjoy the peaceful and pleasant life of a neuter.

"... Go lightly down your darkened way, go lightly underground,
I will be down there in another day, I won't rest until you're found.
Let me love you, let me rescue you, let me bring you where two roads meet,
Oh come back above, where there's only love, only love..."

Jankes - a bewhitepawed loverboy, casanova and macho in one (so what that he is neutered?), a living proof that cojones are the thing of psyche rather than body; not the brainiest, but definitely the most loving cat I have encountered, a hedonist and sybarite, trusting that beauty opens all doors (funnily enough it does, for him at least). Overflowing with deep and ardent love for his two-legs, he demonstrates it by massaging us with his paws, brushing the book you just opened away with his head, because he never get too much of a cuddle. The sole purpose of his existence seems to be the focus of attention and object of caresses. He imposes himself on all our guest, eager to be admired and cuddled, using all means to achieve his goal: for example tumbling at one's feet and showing his delicious tummy to be tickled. And if by some strange coincidence it does not work, Jankes will parade himself around like a model in the catwalk (very adequate term, I think), showing off his beautiful tail with 30 cm long guard hair, arching his back and purring seductively, until the indifference of his object melts away like snow on sunny day...

He has quite a temper and throws some tantrum at shows, but at home he is sweet and docile, yet retaining the agility of a wegie.

Jankes took all that’s best after his parents: perfectly straight profile, strong chin, piercing look of his almond-shaped green eyes, large ears with long tufts, beautiful shape of the head, strong and muscular body, dense undercoat, long and glossy guard hair. Who could ask for more?

Jankes left us shortly before his eighth birthday, we stood no chance with the rapidly developing illness. We will always remember and treasure the magical moments we had together, him purring straight into our ears, the little kisses he gave when he jumped onto my desk to lay in front of the monitor while I was working. He let us know the taste of victories at the shows, but most importantly he taught us the strength and beauty of the love bestowed by a cat upon his humans. That's a lesson we will never forget.
